The Voyeur™ Waterproof Liquid Liner is one of Hourglass Cosmetics‘ flagship products. Because this eyeliner is only available in one shade (black, of course), it’s evident that the brand was really able to refine the formulation of the product in such a way that it would be able to deliver maximum results.
Of course, the first thing you notice about the product is its luxurious-looking packaging. As is the brand’s aesthetic, the tube of the liner is coated in a beautiful metallic rosy bronze that’d fit right in with the rest of Hourglass’ products. In terms of the actual product, there are a lot of good things about the formula. First, it does deliver on intense pigmentation, moreso than a lot of eyeliners out there today. Precision is also very easy with this product’s felt-tip applicator, which gives the right balance of firmness and flexibility. Also, as the name implies, it’s quite long-wearing, and it’s not just because it’s waterproof. Full days do nothing to this product, and it’s still crisp at the end of the day.
The formula does have a few noticeable weaknesses, but nothing that can’t easily be fixed. The first two swipes of this product after not using it can be a little bit patchy, so maybe warm it up on your wrist with one or two swipes until you get the desired level of pigmentation. Additionally, the product is also a little difficult to remove, so you may have to do a lot of finessing at the end of the day just to make sure all of it’s gone.
But overall, this is such a good liquid eyeliner, and with the amount of okay liquid eyeliners out there, that’s very high praise. It’s reliable enough to keep around, and it truly did impress us.
