In our opinion, the Stardust Glitter Eyeliner from e.l.f. Cosmetics has got to be the drugstore alternative for a strong glitter eyeliner. It’s a solid eyeliner that, while not without its issues, is reliable enough for you to want to use it regularly.
For a drugstore product, this product has a pretty great selection. It isn’t necessarily the biggest selection, but the colors you can use in this line are pretty great. Two of the shades of this product are your traditional strong glittery metals, but you also get two more softly colored shades which show up beautifully once you get them to the appropriate level of opacity (which is a different discussion in and of itself). We also appreciate how quickly this product dries down and sets once you apply it. The problem with many liquid eyeliners we’ve encountered is that you have to stay still for the longest time lest you risk accidentally opening your eyes resulting in your eyeliner bleeding all over the place. That is not the case with this eyeliner, which dries down within just a few seconds. Finally, once this product dries down, it’s virtually budge-proof.
In our opinion, our only noteworthy qualm about this product is the strength of the pigmentation. When we tried this product out, it took quite a few swipes of the applicator to get to the level of pigmentation and intensity we desired out of the product, which can be a pretty huge issue if you’re pressed for time when you’re applying this product.
But otherwise, we’re very happy with this product. Especially at the price point that’s been set for this product, this product, to us, definitely looks and feels like it’s worth it. If you’re looking for an affordable but good quality drugstore alternative for glitter eyeliner, this is definitely a good product to consider.
