Marc Jacobs Beauty Fineliner Ultra Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Review

A gel-based pencil eyeliner formula is a little bit of a rarity as quite often, those two things don’t always coincide. But the beauty arm of Marc Jacobs has created the Fineliner Ultra Skinny Gel Eye Crayon to fuse the two concepts into one enormously helpful product. One thing this eyeliner shares in its DNA with other gel eyeliners is the intensity of the color payoff, whatever color (black or otherwise) you’ve decided to go with. When being used, one will notice the product’s rich, creamy texture that makes application supremely smooth, without the muss or fuss of your everyday pencil eyeliner, which means not having to go over patchier spots again and again. This eyeliner also lasts a good amount of time, and doesn’t smudge as other eyeliners tend to, especially when used in the waterline region. There are a few problems with the product, though. First of all, the price tag on this eyeliner is at a steep $25.00 even if you only get such a minuscule amount of product (at least compared to other cheaper products or products within the same price range). Another issue with the product is that despite being a “retractable” pencil, the truth is that the pencil only twists one way: out. Which means having to be very judicious about the amount of product you twist out, lest the product dries out. But even then, we still feel that this is a beautiful product to have around for people who like pencil eyeliners, even if it does take some getting used to.
