Benefit Cosmetics’ They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara has been around the block quite a bit, but it’s clear why this product is so well-beloved among longtime makeup enthusiasts. As all Benefit products do, the packaging of this particular product is gorgeous to look at and keep at your vanity. When you put it on, the effect is almost instantaneous: even with just one preliminary coat, lashes look much longer and thicker, allowing one’s eyes to pop. The product also does a fantastic job at separating lashes and keeping them that way. The separating also helps keep any possible clumping at bay. Now, while the lashes do look beautiful, wearers have to beware because they will also feel quite a bit heavier on the eyelids as well. The wear time is also “meh” on this product, performing well the first few hours, but dramatically warping afterward. Overall, it’s not the best product for more natural looks, but if you’re not into that anyway, you might as well give this product a good old spin, and see what it can do for you and your lashes.

Benefit’s lovely (sometimes kitschy) packaging can sometimes be a hit-or-miss because you end up expecting so much more from certain products. Fortunately, the They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara does deliver on what its beautiful façade promises to great results. In just one coat, lashes instantly look so much fuller, giving the full dramatic effect to the eyes, which is great if you’re a fan of more theatrical eye makeup looks. While it may not be the most fantastic choice for a natural look, this mascara still packs a huge punch. If that’s what you need from your next mascara, this is the one for you!
