e.l.f. Cosmetics Long Wear Baked Highlighter Review
Product Description
The e.l.f. Cosmetics Long Wear Baked Highlighter is a fantastic drugstore highlighter. For just how affordable this product is, you get not only multiple shades to choose the perfect one from, but also a balanced luminizing experience not easily replicated. The fact that it’s a little difficult can be… a bit of a turn-off at first, but once you get past those baby steps, you have one heck of a highlighter on your hands.

Good level of luminosity
Hard to pick up at first
Feels a little dry on the skin

e.l.f. Cosmetics has created a great number of products that we truly enjoy, and the Long Wear Baked Highlighter is the next in that series. For just how inexpensive this product is, we think it really stands out as a fantastic highlighter that we really like using.

This particular highlighter comes in four distinct shades, and all of them look absolutely beautiful. None of the shades look too icy or glittery, so it really does look like the glow is coming from within the skin, which is definitely something we enjoy about the formulation of this product. Besides the actual colors themselves looking beautiful, we were also quite impressed by how balanced the luminosity of this product looks. Once in a while, we do like a good, light, non-blinding highlighter, and this product fills that niche for us by shimmering just the right amount, which makes this a product you can use even on a regular day if you’re not the type to sport heavier makeup looks. We also really like how stable this product is once it’s been set. The wear time is just absolutely fantastic, and it doesn’t budge beginning a few minutes after it’s initially put on.

Now, there are a few downsides to this formula that we need to point out. First, something about the way this product is formulated for its packaging makes it particularly difficult to pick up the first few times you use it. To remedy this, you’d need to go in with a moistened brush, or even go over the top layer of the product with a napkin just to soften it up enough to be easy to pick up. Next, this product also has a tendency to feel a little bit dry on the skin, so you might want to keep an eye out for that.

Otherwise, we barely have issues with the way that this highlighter performs. Yes, it’s that good. This is one of those drugstore products that, to our surprise, give much more expensive products a real run for their money, which we really like about it.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
