Marc Jacobs Beauty Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick Review

Marc Jacobs Beauty Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick Review
Product Description
While we were initially thrilled to try the Marc Jacobs Beauty Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick, we found ourselves disappointed to find that it didn't really provoke any strong emotions in us. While it applies smoothly, and it lasts a while, generally, it's just so-so.

The Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick is one of the newest releases of Marc Jacobs Beauty, and is included in the same collection that includes the Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder (which we’ve reviewed here). Unfortunately, for all the love we had for the powder, we just didn’t feel as strongly about the concealer, even though it has some pretty fantastic qualities.

This stick formula concealer actually applied quite smoothly even if you apply it directly from the stick. Rubbing the end with a finger makes it glide even more quickly, but generally, it doesn’t need very much work to get going. The coverage of the product is also quite pleasing, allowing for an easily customizable level of coverage. It also adheres quite well to skin, which is one of its biggest strengths. Even after a long day, this product doesn’t fade away too easily.

We do have some concerns about this product, though. First of all, in terms of formula, our main concern is that it’s just a little too drying—as in you can feel the product slowly grappling on to your face, and then experiencing a “drought” of sorts. This doesn’t really cause it to crease or anything, but it’s definitely uncomfortable to experience, especially if it is left on for extended periods of time. In terms of touching-up, you might also not be very lucky with this product. If you’re the type to powder your makeup after the initial application, touch-ups might be more difficult with this product, skipping and not setting properly no matter what you do.

This product, in our opinion, is not awful, but honestly, we did find it quite boring. There was nothing mind-blowing (good or bad) about it, and it doesn’t really offer anything special to the table, even with its formula.

SUITABLE FOR: Normal to oily skin.
