MAC Cosmetics Studio Conceal and Correct Palette Review

MAC Cosmetics Studio Conceal and Correct Palette Review
Product Description
While using a concealer palette as opposed to a standard-issue concealer-in-a-tube might seem a little intimidating at first, MAC Cosmetics simplifies the experience with the Studio Conceal and Correct Palette. By giving the wearer just the right amount of color options to avoid overwhelming them, one can easily (and simply) tailor-make the colors of their concealer to suit what they need. This level of customizability combined with a great formula definitely makes this palette a must-try concealer experience.

These days, we’d have to say concealer palettes are not as common as your traditional tube-package single-shade concealers, perhaps because it appears to be more difficult to utilize. But with the Studio Conceal and Correct Palette, MAC Cosmetics wants to keep it simple, while still providing a customizable concealer experience that encourages you to seek out the right look for you that you can achieve by switching up your concealer.

Being a palette, what we really appreciate about this product is specifically the amount of choices one gets in a set. The abundance of shades not only allows you to select the right color, but also mix colors to create the absolute best color for whatever purpose you need—whether for spot correction or even highlighting. This product also has a good level of coverage—definitely buildable between medium to full, depending on how you choose to apply this creamy concealer formula. Once this concealer is set, we really like the way the finish looks. While it’s definitely not dewy, it’s also not particularly mattifying, thus the covered areas get a nice, natural look to them. Finally, this concealer is one of the more long-wearing formulas we’ve come across, wearing for a solid eight hours before beginning to fade (without creasing or bruising too badly).

Probably our largest issue with this product has to do with its very nature as a product. While it is a great convenience to have all these shades at your command effortlessly, the palette form of the product also takes away from its portability, meaning no touch-ups on the go unless you decide to bring this whole palette with you.

In our opinion, customizability is really the main draw and absolute highlight of this concealer palette. Yes, the formula is solid (as should be expected from MAC Cosmetics), but with this product, you’re really paying to get the perfect color, look, and feel, which not a lot of concealer products really get to provide, which makes this one an immediate standout.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
