Of course, we all know by know that different makeup works for different people. This is one of the driving principles of the industry, and one that keeps people testing out different products to find the permutations that work the best for them.
Because of the difference of climate in Asia as compared to, say, Europe or North America, not all products that work for people in those regions will necessarily work for people in Asia.
This is why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to test out some concealers—one of the most crucial products in any makeup routine—to see which ones work the best against the different skin concerns that Asians have to deal with.

We’re starting this list off with something that’s a little different from the rest of the entries on this list. Instead of your usual concealer-in-a-tube, the Studio Conceal and Correct Palette from MAC Cosmetics, as its name implies, is a palette that allows for customizable color and coverage. In terms of addressing skin concerns, the customizability of this product goes a long way because you get the opportunity to tailor each look to whatever issue you’re facing at the moment.

We didn’t give Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer too favorable a review when we first spoke about it, but it’s definitely grown on us since. Not only does this product have an all-inclusive shade range that caters to the most amount of people (as has become the standard for Rihanna’s brand); the formula of this product also holds up really well against the elements with the way it holds on to the skin making for a fantastic wear time despite near-constant humidity.

We’d be remiss not to include any drugstore products in this list because of their sheer ubiquity in the Asian region. This particular concealer from NYX Cosmetics is a prime example of a concealer that holds up really well against Asian skin concerns. Besides the HD Studio Photogenic Concealer Wand’s pretty expansive shade range (that also includes color correctiors, in case that’s something you’d like to experiment with), this concealer also packs a punch when it comes to smoothening and refining the overall look and texture of the skin.

Seemingly since the beginning of time, finding a perfect undereye concealer has always been a daunting task because so much can go wrong. With the Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer, IT Cosmetics is definitely on to something. This concealer does not budge, even through the most extreme and intense of conditions, which makes it a good choice to wear in a region where conditions do get pretty extreme.

When Benefit Cosmetics said “industrial strength,” they were not kidding. The Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer is a pretty great example of a concealer that works for pretty much anyone, and under pretty much any condition. Besides providing heavy-duty coverage for days, the staying power of this product has got to be one of our favorite things. If you’re looking for something heavier, check this product out.

Glossier’s Stretch Concealer feels almost like a foil for the Industrial Strength Concealer. Where the latter provides heavy coverage and wear time (and feels heavy at that), this product from Glossier is all about lightness. While we wouldn’t always recommend such a light product under such intense conditions, something about the way it wears and fades in humidity is just so graceful—so much so that we do firmly believe that it belongs on this list. And let’s be real, when it’s hot out, who wants to be caught dead wearing too much makeup?

There are so many good reasons why this product from NARS Cosmetics has pretty much attained legendary status. The Radiant Creamy Concealer is one of the most (if not the most) comfortable concealers we’ve encountered. The comfortability of this formula combined with the great coverage and fantastic wear time of this concealer makes it ideal for addressing all sorts of skin concerns that one could face.

We honestly do still think that Maybelline’s iconic Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles is possibly the best concealer product in the drugstore. This product is not just affordable; moreso than other products in the drugstore (and perhaps even more high-end products), this concealer just performs undeniably well in every imaginable category you might need a concealer for. If it weren’t for the somewhat annoying (and messy) sponge-tip applicator of this product, this could even be our favorite concealer of all time for whatever conditions.

Similar to the Glossier Stretch Concealer (#5 on this list), the Touche Éclat All-Over Brightening Pen is not a heavy-duty or full coverage concealer—quite the opposite, really. This famous concealer from Yves Saint Laurent Beauty might not pack the most pigment, but it takes brightening seriously, granting a unique level of luminosity that more than makes up for its lack of coverage. Its lightness is also an important factor to consider because, again, who’d be caught dead with thick, melting makeup in this heat?

This one honestly shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that religiously follows the hottest beauty products around the world. The Shape Tape Concealer from Tarte Cosmetics is a very well-known holy grail product that gives its best to absolutely anyone that needs its help. This concealer not only gives a fantastic buildable coverage and a soothing, hydrating finish. It’s also practically climate-proof, which totally helps when you’re up against some of the most humid environments in the world.
