Kolor Fall 2019 Ready-To-Wear Collection Review
Description
What makes elegance normal? According to Junichi Abe of Kolor, it's all about deconstructing the tropes of luxury. In his perspective, no matter how fine your pieces are, at the end of the day, they're still clothes, albeit elegant ones!

“A normal elegance” was the look designer Junichi Abe was looking to achieve for Kolor’s Fall 2019 Collection. His take, however, was slightly more avant-garde than what most would perceive as normal. The clothes here had a definitively normcore look, slightly even 70s even, with a few touches of slight deconstruction to further push the “normal” narrative. But what makes this elegant? The luxurious materials. Cashmere and wool were the main fabrications, but since he tore most pieces gently, had holes put in them, or even shredded them up a bit, they didn’t look like your ordinary luxury items. This juxtaposition of produced elegance and controlled saturation make this offering a touch edgier than it seems. And this might as well be the charm of Junichi Abe’s works, one that would have women running to their stores come fall!
