It’s difficult to pinpoint what Italian style truly looks like. Is it the refined yet rigid business look of Prada and Armani? Or is it the unapologetically sexy and controversially sensual aesthetic from the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Versace. The truth is, it can either be both or neither. Brunello Cucinelli offered his own proposal of pure Italian style that was far from what was mentioned earlier. His spring 2019 line, a celebratory outing for his company’s 40th anniversary, was a tribute to rustic Italian country style. His use of natural fiber fabrications such as linen, cotton, and silk gave way to softly-tailored jackets, billowy dresses, and cozy separates. The collection itself was a postcard to the most serene holiday destinations of the Mediterranean country, offering a peek into what a luxurious lifestyle of leisure looks like.
