Fall collections are usually heavy, overly-layered, and rigid to a degree that the wearer no longer has any agency to move about. It’s just become the standard that many designers adhere to year after year. However, this season, Yigal Azrouël made such a compelling case for a light and airy winter wardrobe that was truly impeccable. His Fall 2019 collection was crafted so finely that everything about it was exquisite. The draped jersey frocks, the tailored check separates, and strong knitwear are bound to become bestsellers come fall. There was even a sophisticatedly sporty element to it with the well-cut tracksuits and the beautifully draped plaid hooded coat. For those who want a bit of sparkle for their everyday lives, his embellishments were so neatly applied that they gave off a certain shimmer that wasn’t too ostentatious. Everything here was just right, which makes it the great collection that it is.
