How can Moon Choi converge classic tailoring with modern sophistication in such an effortless way? Her Fall 2019 collection left us dazzled, astonished, and excited for what’s ahead from this bright young designer. This season, she managed to uphold both traditional elegance with a contemporary edge in her seamless line of well-cut coats, tailored suits, and beautifully draped frocks. The sharpness of her streamlined shapes held such distinguished forms, you’d think they were made by a workshop from Italy. While the drapings of her feminine dresses and fluid outerwear were almost akin to the haute couture of past masters. And yet, despite all of that, there was a sophisticated sense of ease in the line that almost drew you in. It was as if you knew that, even when wearing these tailored creations, you’d still feel fine and have all the agency in the world. She’s still young, but Moon Choi has already proven that she can go head-to-head with the greats, especially with this excellent line!
