Although Apiece Apart has had an affinity for frocks and gowns, it wasn’t a niche label that focused entirely on occasion-wear. The brand’s collection often had numbers for said market, but usually, their pieces are for working women who preferred the swoosh of a skirt rather than the power look of a pantsuit. For Fall 2019, however, things were a bit different. While it wasn’t their starting point when they designed the clothes, designers Laura Cramer and Starr Hout eventually molded a new narrative for this season—An English countryside wedding. From the palette of earthy tones and gentle florals to the cozy cashmere pieces and sophisticated dresses, there was a certain hardness to the clothes that was definitely English. A rustic elegance that mirrored most of Queen Elizabeth II‘s garden looks as seen on the hit Netflix series “The Crown.” All the floaty frocks would look perfect for a sunny afternoon ceremony, while the more daywear pieces are probably what the bride and her bridesmaids were wearing when preparing for the big day. Luxury can be molded into different ways, and for this season, Cramer and Starr crafted it into an outdoorsy yet romantic wardrobe!
