There’s simple and then there’s pedestrian, and unfortunately for Warm, their Fall 2019 collection is more of the latter than the former. Winnie Beattie is, no doubt, a creative designer, but there was nothing creative about this line at all! These are plain clothes you’d see in a department store, and that’s where these pieces might eventually end up in. Even thrift stores have more creative-looking items than this lot. Never mind the overused 70s-esque bohemian tropes or the simple silhouettes that do nothing for the female figure, but even the quality was so half-assed. So not only did it seem like there wasn’t much thought put into the designs, but it also looked like there wasn’t much skill put into the construction neither! In such a saturated industry where almost everything looks the same nowadays, this offering did nothing to merit any excitement nor start any conversations. And while Warm was never a label that started trends nor revolutionized fashion, it was such a shame seeing it go down such a mediocre level. We’re hoping things will pick up next season and that creativity will return to the brand!
