Urban Decay may not be the most consistent brand out there, but when they’re on their game, they’re really on their game. Enter the Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss, a relatively new lip gloss formula from the brand. It’s gotten a little bit of popularity in the online sphere, but has not exploded the same way other lip glosses have—even if it is a better lip gloss than so many out there today.
When it comes to this product, variety is most definitely the name of the game. There are a lot of great colors to choose from in this collection, and diffferent finishes as well, ensuring you get the lip gloss experience that suits you the most. It also avoids the traps that so many contemporary lip gloss products fall into. It’s not ultra-tacky, and it’s also very lightweight, so each application leads to a comfortable wearing experience.
But on the other hand, it does have some significant pitfalls that should perhaps be taken note of. Patchiness is an issue most high-pigment lip glosses have to deal with, and it’s definitely an issue with this one as well. Especially with the darker shades, it’s quite easy to spot the patchiness, and if you’re a perfectionist, this may just drive you insane. Also, it has some issues with staying on. In that department, it’s quite a bit better than a lot of lip glosses, but it’s not the longest-lasting gloss, that’s for sure.
In our opinion, we found this lip gloss to be a particularly competent product. Maybe we wouldn’t put it among the highest tier of lip gloss products that we’ve been able to try, but it’s definitely up there, especially for a luxury lip gloss.
