ColourPop Cosmetics has become something of a cult classic brand, and definitely a holy grail among budget makeup enthusiasts. While the brand’s products aren’t necessarily available in drugstores, the prices are definitely competitive with those of drugstore brands, hence we do, in some way, think of it as a drugstore brand.
Their So Juicy Plumping Lip Gloss is the brand’s latest take on lip gloss. Packaged in a plastic tube reminiscent of a product you’d get in the early 2000’s, this lip gloss is fantastic, and we really love a lot about it.
When we say there’s a lot we really love about this product, we’re not kidding. There’s a great balance between all the excellent qualities of this product. First of all, for a drugstore product, this has such a fantastically expansive shade range, featuring all manners of colors that look absolutely gorgeous as lip gloss shades. There are pinks and nudes, purple and reds, and honestly, this product already captured our hearts just at the sight of this shade range. We also like the plumping effect that this lip gloss gives. It’s not as prominent as some other plumping lip glosses out there, but it’s also not unpleasant, which is important for attaining a good level of comfort while wearing this product. We also really love the look of the finish of this product, which is hi-shine and very glassy.
Really, the only thing we (very slightly) dislike about this formula is the feel of the finish. While we appreciate a good, intense, glassy shine, we’re not the biggest fans of tacky lip glosses, and this one has just a teensy bit of stickiness, but it’s prominent enough to make us take notice of it.
Honestly, we’re very pleased about this particular lip gloss. For the price you have to pay—that is to say, not a lot—you get a very well-rounded product that ticks all the boxes for what you’ll be needing out of lip gloss, and gives an exemplary performance at that.
