Tatcha The Silk Canvas Filter Finish Protective Primer Review
Product Description
Pricey luxury products normally have twice the burden of normal beauty products because on top being expected to work well, they have to be able to justify their (sometimes insane) price tags. Unfortunately for Tatcha, the Silk Canvas Protective Primer crumbles under these expectations. On its own, it’s not a horrendous product. It does give the skin a touch of hydration to get it in the right state to hold makeup, and smooths out the texture of the skin to create the “silk canvas” the product boasts. But otherwise, the performance on this product is pretty mediocre, and hardly anything to talk about. First off, the product doesn’t quite blend right onto the skin, leaving the skin with a sheer (but visible) white cast. The product also does nothing to control sebum production, so oil is sure to seep through makeup at some point throughout the day. All this, and it doesn’t even get to do much for the wear time. Overall, despite they hype, this product is only really for someone who has this kind of money to burn.

Unfortunately, in the social media age, not all products can quite live up to the hype of their online presentations and followings. Tatcha’s The Silk Canvas Protective Primer. The product is currently one of the internet’s hot new primers, but it doesn’t quite rise up to the challenge. While it does feel nice on the skin, smoothes out skin, and is quite hydrating, the general performance of this product with makeup on is lacking. If you do believe this is something you can spend on, maybe you can try it out, but otherwise, you don’t really have to bother.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types, but less so for oily skin.
