Clinique’s Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder is an okay product that comes with a pretty steep price tag. While this product does boast a good shade range, and a nice, lightweight finish, it does encounter problems in the “keeping makeup mattified” end of things—which is its raison d'être. While at initial application, it does a pretty bang-up job of mattifying skin, a little while later, you end up right back at square one, which means applying the product over and over and over again throughout the day, which kind of defeats the purpose of this kind of product. At the end of the day, this product just doesn’t stay on the way it needs to, and there are cheaper products out there that can do much better, unfortunately.

The Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder is not one of Clinique’s finer moments. While it does look great when initially applied, the product just doesn’t stay long enough for its claims to count. This powder needs constant love and touch-ups throughout the day, otherwise the oil monster just comes out, and eats the makeup. Truly, there are more effective products out there that come at a fraction of the price, so you won’t be missing out by steering clear.
