Maybelline Baby Skin® Instant Pore Eraser® Primer Review
Product Description
Maybelline’s longtime flagship makeup primer, the Baby Skin® Instant Pore Eraser® Primer, is definitely one of our favorite go-to primers at the drugstore. While it’s definitely affordable, that’s not even its best quality yet. We were definitely very happy at the consistency of the formula, and its general level of effectivity. This is a product that stands on its own by pure merit of the formula without even considering how much cheaper it is than other primers.

An oldie but a goodie in the drugstore primer game, the Baby Skin® Instant Pore Eraser® Primer is by the inimitable Maybelline brand. This lovely little tube of product is not only one of the more affordable primers we’ve come across. This product’s formula is also one of the best in terms of what it promises.

The consistency of this primer is lush and velvety. This kind of smoothness has the effect of making the primer so easy to apply and blend out onto the different regions where you want to put on the product. We also really like that this product is truly clear-colored. We have problems with the way some primers create a white “cast” over the skin, so we’re very happy to see that this product doesn’t suffer from the same issue. Also noteworthy is that this product does oil control in such a way that it doesn’t fully mattify the skin, but it does very much improve makeup longevity.

We do have slight issues, though, with the product, and despite how minor they seem to be, we felt that they merited acknowledgment. First, the product does do a discernible amount of pore minimization, but we felt like we could’ve definitely used more on that front, so that’s something to look for when using this product. Second, though we appreciate the product’s general consistency, we’re also a bit overwhelmed by the product’s silicone-esque texture. There’s a little too much of a noticeable slip—so much so that we could almost feel how slippery our face was immediately post-application.

As far as drugstore primers go, this is one of the primers that we’d definitely rank among the best. And it certainly does hold its own when it comes to other higher-end primers, so you can definitely color us impressed.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
