Minimalism is a pragmatic style that offers modern customers a chic yet sustainable wardrobe for their busy lifestyles. But who says it can’t look romantic as well? Enter Sean Monahan and Monica Paolini of Sea! Their Fall 2019 collection combined the fashionable functionality of minimalism with the slightly more dramatic tensions of romanticism. Take a cotton jumpsuit, for instance, pleated by the neckline and nipped by the waist to make it seem like a two-piece ensemble with paper bag trousers. Or an A-line dress, ruched by the neckline to conjure up a tent-like shape and decorated with little frills by the hems. And finally, a white shirt hand-embroidered to look like a quintessential lace top from the Mediterranean. These little interjections of classic romantic details make all the difference in their minimalist offering, especially when offset against their leather pencil skirts and puffer pieces. All in all, this clash of ideas was so seamless and smooth, it’s bound to be a hit come fall!
