Think Joan Crawford dressing up like Shirley Temple and adding her own spins on the look. Sounds a bit off? It is, and unfortunately, that’s what Chocheng‘s latest collection looked like! Her Fall 2019 show was an attempt to combine the 30s and 40s-esque staples with a classic innocent look but actually led to a rather strange-looking offering instead. Those Peter Pan collar accessories—or whatever they may actually be—did nothing to elevate the looks. In fact, even if you take them out, what you’d still get are rather stale-looking suits. The quality of construction here was also quite awful! You can see the puckering at the seams and the scrunched-up quality on the evening looks. Chocheng really took a big risk by showing this as her latest line. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth taking after all!
