Sandro Fall 2019 Ready-To-Wear Collection Review
Description
Cowgirls in Paris? This is what Sandro envisioned for Fall 2019. But while the concept was interesting, the execution was far from it. Though the clothes are quite refined, they're extremely pedestrian in design and construction.

The Wild Wild West is clearly having a moment in fashion these days. It’s even hit Parisian labels, Sandro being the latest one. Their Fall 2019 collection is all about a chic, subtle, and incredibly youthful take on “cowboy-style,” taking into account leather boots, denim, and sleek silhouettes. Instead of relying on old-fashioned Americana as the starting point—as most American brands tend to do when taking on this reference—Sandro opted to focus on the attitude of the theme instead. It was all about strength through clothing, and here, they laid it out via strong-shouldered but softly tailored jackets, prairie tops and dresses that had a Victorian flair to them, and a whole lot of black leather. The prairie pieces provided a tinge of elegance for evening, but if one chooses to forego these floaty frocks, a gilded jacquard suit would be a great alternative. But just like their Fall 2019 men’s collection, this offering also falls short in packing in a more creative punch! Seriously speaking, what high street label doesn’t have that white collared short-sleeved little black dress? Or the red-and-black plaid slightly oversized flannel shirt? There’s little to no originality here, which is completely unfortunate seeing as Sandro is a high fashion band, albeit in the contemporary market. Their designs should be a notch higher than those of the high street, not equal to them. And the final nail on the coffin is the tacky cowboy print—simply ghastly. This was, by all means, not their worst offering. But it’s definitely one of their most boring and most pedestrian. And sometimes, that’s even worse!
