Sometimes, all that a man needs is simply a well-cut suit. Fortunately for him, he can find such at Sandro’s Fall 2019 Menswear line. A collection of easy-to-wear basics and precisely tailored suits and outerwear, creative director Ilan Chétrite made it as simple as it gets for the modern gentlemen. Pinstriped shirts and knitted sweaters provided a touch of elegance to the overall casual array and are great pieces to wear both in work and during one’s leisure time. While the nice gray variation is a great starting suit for those young professionals out there willing to put their own twists into their corporate wardrobes. More or less, the offering’s vibe stayed quite nonchalant, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it could have been better. The biggest criticism that this collection warranted was that, in essence, these are just basic clothes. In terms of style and design, such pieces don’t differ as much from those seen in department stores. And for a luxury brand to merit such a comment is extremely telling. Though the cut and construction are top-notch, do such clothes that almost everybody else already have in their wardrobes really deserve such high price points? Possibly a bigger question is who will buy such clothes at such high prices? Only time can tell, but the future isn’t looking so bright right now!
