It was all about power at Roksanda’s Fall 2019 show. Be it in the form of volumes, bright hues, or twisted takes on sportswear staples, the woman Roksanda Ilincic was designing for is a powerful creature. It’s evident that she wants her clothes to be show-stopping, even when it’s as simple as a cream linen jumpsuit. Her day-dress? It’s a midi-length tent frock in bronze satin with a hot pink frill on the neckline. Perhaps the most interesting items in the show were arguably the colorful and feminine spins on the parka—normally a masculine piece. Here, they were color-blocked in sweet shades of dandelion yellow, hot pink, azure blue, and paneled with some oriental-style floral print for that signature exotic flair. These are bound to sell big come fall, as will the array of voluminous evening and cocktail-wear that looked worthy enough to be on the haute couture runways in Paris. If any woman wants to look modern yet feminine and classic yet contemporary for an elegant affair, these are the numbers to go for!
