Though military styles are often explored in womenswear, there’s something uniquely feminine and soft about Rebecca Taylor‘s approach this season. Since moving to Paris recently and having visited countless museums that displayed military wardrobe artifacts, she was inspired by their structure and silhouettes for her latest line. As a result, her Fall 2019 collection evoked a certain rigor that was precise and powerful, but also undeniably pretty. And we’re all here for it! Just take a look at that rosy pink ensemble of a streamlined jacket with a matching-hued fluid set of separates. It’s both romantic and rigid at the same time, without, however, constricting the wearer. That rust-colored pinstriped double-breasted jumpsuit, on the other hand, had a modern edginess to it beaming with youth, vibrancy, and a little bit of sex appeal. We have no doubt Parisiennes will go gaga over it come fall. For the more mature clientele, they might better appreciate the rounded silhouette of the black leather wrap-jacket with matching linen trousers. That classically-floral top underneath added the right touch of delicacy. Overall, we praise Rebecca Taylor for embracing strength in an unabashed and sincerely feminine way for fall!
