Jason Wu is all about giving women fashions that they could feel pretty in. Even at his subline, Jason Wu Grey, which was established to offer more daywear and office-ready clothes instead of his usual red carpet styles, pretty is still at the center of his overall design aesthetic. Testament to this is his Resort 2019 collection for the line. While it had a lot of tailored pieces, many of which harken back to his days at Hugo Boss, the prettiness still dominated with the billowy florals, neutral-toned knits, and sparkling separates. The florals, in particular, packed on the pretty with their long flowing silhouettes and neckline frills. On the other hand, a shimmering dark nude-colored shift which was draped so beautifully by the waist looked like the epitomizing ensemble for the entire brand: injecting a sense of femininity for work clothes. Whichever customers choose to buy for the incoming season, only one thing can’t be denied: they’ll be looking pretty.
