There’s no denying the glamour is becoming a major starting point for a lot of designers these days. As streetwear starts to edge its way out, various brands are putting the shine, shimmer, and sparkle back on the runways and into women’s wardrobes. This was the foundation of Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s Resort 2019 collection for No. 21. This season, glamour reigned supreme, with all sorts of textiles, embellishments, embroideries, and more all mixed together to create an eclectic yet excitingly delectable offering. Shimmering PVC skirts and dresses, even a particular red stand-out that was contrasted with macrame lace, gave it a sort of sexual strength that was more about power and less about sex. The tailoring here was also refined, from the oversized denim jacket with the leather collar to the show-stopping gilded baroque pajama-style suit. This collection offered femininity and glamour in a multitude of ways. And it’s bound to earn a multitude of millions by the time it hits the stores!
