Beauty products put out by fashion houses can be a mixed bag. Sometimes, they work amazingly, but other times, the accompanying price tag does put into question the true value of the product. Enter Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Luminous Silk Foundation. The product does stay true to its claims of weightlessness and luminosity, but things begin to go awry elsewhere. First, it’s hard to find the perfect shade from this product because the brand’s shade-naming system is byzantine, and a little hard to understand. And beyond this, even if you do find the seemingly perfect shade, the color changes by a lot once it oxidizes. For oily-skinned wearers, this foundation is also not great at keeping oil from seeping out, so constant re-blotting is a huge requirement when wearing this product. And finally, for this price point, the presence of allergens and comedogenic ingredients is not a great sign. All-in-all, there are foundations out there that can do the same as this product that are less expensive and don’t have the same probably-harmful ingredients.

While Giorgio Armani Beauty’s popular Luminous Silk Foundation does have a number of good qualities, especially if you have the skin type for it, it’s also weighed down by some issues that may make it an unwise investment for you.
