There’s been plenty of talk around the internet about the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation—both good and bad. This is ultimately what led us to seek out this relatively new foundation by NYX Cosmetics to see (or rather, confirm) what people thought about it on the internet.
We think this foundation deserves some commendation for its shade range. Especially for a drugstore product, it’s not always easy to find base complexion products that really cater to the widest possible range of skin colors, so the fact that this one is so inclusive is a huge plus in our book. In terms of formula, this does try to make skin look its best by blurring out or filling in pores and fine lines. But unfortunately, these qualities alone does not a good foundation make.
One of the things we hated the first time we tried out this foundation was that it was so hard to blend. Like, not even a full ten seconds after placing the fluid on the face, the product would just not budge at all because it had already dried down, so you’ll definitely have to apply this product in smaller, more manageable regions as opposed to a full face application before blending. And speaking of drying, we appreciate a good matte foundation, but this one will leave your face feeling parched and desert-like, so if you already have dry skin, steer clear. Despite the matte finish of this foundation, it also really bothered us how prone to transference this product is. If you’re wearing something white and with a collar, expect the collar to look grimy. And also, it just doesn’t hold up much of a fight against humidity. At all. Exposed to heat, this product separates and exaggerates creasing.
This is a disappointing product, to say the least—and from NYX, a drugstore brand that we hold so close to our hearts. Maybe a reformulation can iron out some of this formula’s very significant issues, but as it stands in the present, it’s not particularly viable or reliable.
SUITABLE FOR: Normal to oily skin.
