How magical is the Magic Foundation, really? Well, if our time with this Charlotte Tilbury product has told us anything, it’s that it’s a pretty great foundation. We were really impressed by this foundation, and there’s so much we love about it.
We really like the consistency of this product, especially when we’re putting the stuff on. Straight out of the pump, it’s quite creamy, almost like a serum, which makes it easy to pick up on a foundation brush or sponge and buff out over the skin. Once it’s on the skin, the effect is instantaneous. The product’s full-intensity coverage is a highlight. The way this foundation blocks out skin tone unevenness and smooths out the look and texture of the skin is pretty astounding and definitely left us in slack-jawed shock. We also really like that once it dries down, it doesn’t go fully matte but instead creates an almost satin-like smoothness that almost makes you look like you’re glowing. And to top it all off, this product is very long-wearing, without too much maintenance required after you’ve finished powdering and setting it.
Besides the pretty high price point of this product, the only downside we have to point out is mainly the shade range. Smack dab in the middle of an age where all-inclusive shade ranges are out there, this product’s meager collection (a total of twenty) makes it a little difficult to find a color that matches exactly, especially because the coverage is so full.
That said, we have to say we’re pretty impressed by this foundation, especially because its strong suits carry over to whatever skin type you have. It’s definitely a great product to consider if you’re looking for a durable full-coverage foundation.
