Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Stick Foundation Review

Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Stick Foundation Review
Product Description
Tarte Cosmetics’ Amazonian Clay Stick Foundation is definitely a better-than-average foundation stick. Equipped with just the right amount of creaminess, this product is very easy to apply and blend right onto the skin. It also boasts a natural finish that makes it imperceptible once applied to the skin. On top of that, the wear time of the product is superior, and needs minimal touching-up throughout the day. One thing that puts the odds against this product is a limited shade range, which makes it hard to find an accurate color match in this product range. Size-wise, it’s also quite small for a foundation stick, which means more swipes of product. Finally, especially if you’re not properly primed, the formula can be a little drying, so that’s definitely something to watch for. But otherwise, this is a product that we can pretty confidently recommend for anyone looking to try a foundation stick product in their routine.

Tarte Cosmetics’ all-vegan, all-organic formulas have turned out both hits and misses in the past, especially when it comes to the brand’s much-beloved Amazonian Clay product line. Fortunately, the Amazonian Clay Stick Foundation falls quite firmly on the “hit” side.

The Amazonian Clay Stick Foundation formula works very well, and places itself above plenty of other foundation stick formulas in the market. The stick has just the right amount of creaminess to be both easy to apply and very blendable. And once it’s properly dried down (to a natural finish) and set, it really does stay on the skin very well.

But there are some specific caveats to this product that one has to keep in mind while considering the purchase. First of all, the shade range of the product is extremely limited at twelve shades, which means it’s very difficult to get an accurate color match—which may also mean having to purchase two shades just to get the right color. It’s also quite minuscule for a foundation stick, so you end up using a little more product because of the number of swipes you have to make to cover just the necessary regions of the face.

But other than these considerations, we do think that this is definitely a product to watch out for, especially if Tarte Cosmetics decides to expand the shade range down the line.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
