Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty label has been on a roll since the brand launched with its very first line of products back in 2017. Since then, it’s become clear that the line’s focus has been on a very glamourous look that caters to a wider range of people—all with different skin tones. This is evident in the brand’s Fairy Bomb Shimmer Powder.
The Fairy Bomb Shimmering Powder is the same highlighting powder formulation that came pre-loaded in the brand’s limited edition Fairy Bomb Glittering Pom-Pom. This time around, it’s standalone product that’s been integrated into the brand’s permanent collection, albeit as an online exclusive.
There’s a lot of good to say about this product. First of all, despite only coming in three shades, all the colors are universally flattering, so whichever color you pick up, you can be sure that the color can and will suit your skin tone. The actual formulation of the product gives other highlighters out there a run for their money, even the brand’s own collections of highlighters. In one concentrated application, you get enough highlight to blind. And on top of that, because it is designed for all-over application (including the body), you also get a fantastic wear time out of the product.
The main concern with this product is how messy it can get. Because it’s a loose powder formula, it’s much more prone to scattering and getting glitter in places you were not looking to add glitter to. Additionally, for some folks, this may get just a little bit oily. But neither of these are particularly dealbreakers.
All-in-all, both as a face highlighter and an all-over highlighter, we think this product is definitely top-tier-worthy. With a more expansive shade range, this may become one of the most mind-blowing highlighters out in the market right now.
