Ever since Phoebe Philo announced she was leaving Celine, modern-day working women have been orphaned. They no longer had a trusty, go-to label that caters to their wardrobe needs. This led to other designers stepping up their game in providing for this specific and lucrative clientele, including Giorgio Armani. For resort 2019, the Emporio Armani woman saw a bit more maturity that’s more akin to the Celine by Phoebe Philo-style. There were business-ready jackets, elegant suits, and versatile dresses that can work for day and night. The collection was far from the cocktail crowd at Giorgio Armani but had still had the designer’s signature touch of sophistication.
