Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter Review
Product Description
We’ll be clear: The Love Light Prismatic Highlighter by Too Faced is not a bad highlighter. But at the same time, it’s just not fantastic either, which is too bad because it does get a lot right. Besides the adorable visual motif of the product, the glow it imparts is at the halfway point between natural and glamourous, which is gorgeous, and it’s so easy to blend out onto the skin. But the amount of glitter the product has is a little bit distracting, and the formula just leads to so much messy glitter fallout. It’s just ultimately disappointing to use, in our opinion.

The Love Light Prismatic Highlighter is… cute. That’s not sarcasm; it really is adorable. But this highlighter product by Too Faced definitely has strong suits, and it definitely has weak spots that need to be considered, in case it’s something you find yourself interested in this product.

Now, yes, the packaging. It’s so striking because, as is common with the products of Too Faced, the visual motif—in this case, a jewel-like, diamond-esque stucture—makes the product so visually distinct. In terms of the actual formula, of course it does impart a good amount of glow. Not the blinding highlight you might expect from something that’s jewel-inspired visually, but it gives a healthy, reflective glow. Even the actual pigments (the products has three available shades) aren’t too heavy, though you can still tell if it’s the white, gold or rose gold highlighter. This product also imparts a lovely level of blendability that makes it easier to keep the product looking natural on the skin.

In terms of weaknesses, as we mentioned, the product might not be as shiny as one would like or expect. It’s also a little bit too glittery in a way that doesn’t quite improve the reflectiveness of the product, so if you don’t like glitter, maybe rethink this product. The fallout can be a little intense, and after just a few hours of wear, you could have so much glitter all over your face. It doesn’t help that the product doesn’t stay on too well either. This highlighter tends to fade out after just a few short hours necessitating a touch-up.

Overall, we think that the Love Light Prismatic Highlighter isn’t the worst highlighter out there, but it’s definitely not the best either. It kind of falls middle-of-the-road because of a few issues that try to hold it back when it could be so, so much better.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
