Albert Kriemler delivered an astoundingly refined collection for Fall 2019. It was both intellectual and elegant, with references to acclaimed artists such as Richard Artschwager and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Perhaps the most striking about this line is the effortless sophistication it put forth. This season, the Akris woman is into lovely tailored ensembles, some decorated with Artschwager-inspired multi-colored block prints, while others shimmered on their own with their luxurious finish. A midnight blue velvet suit was simply divine on the narrow catwalk and everyone who had a detailed view knew that this was a stand-out outfit in the show. Shine was actually a big component in the collection as well, but a lot subtler in other looks by way of metallic gold boots and well-cut leather suits. The former was the right pop of shimmer to an otherwise dark neutral-hued offering while the latter played on the power look women want nowadays. And for the piece de resistance, the closing look of an elongated halter sheath gown in dusky navy. It was the perfect simple yet impactful look to close what was undoubtedly one of the more sophisticated shows in the whole Fashion Month!
