Do you love Impressionist art so much you’d want to wear them? Well, now you can thanks to Véronique Leroy! In her Fall 2019 line, inspired by the said art movement, she had the brazen idea of incorporating priceless works of art, from Monet to Van Gogh, as prints onto her vast array of elegant separates. This technique may sound gimmicky, and in the wrong hands will look as such, but with Leroy’s subtlety and refined sense of style, she pulled it off. Furthermore, the Impressionist vibe was also reflected onto the silhouettes, at least slightly. A draped brown top, for instance, had round mullet-like sleeves that echoed the garments of the 19th-century, the era of which Impressionism was at its height. While a swiveling coat dress in camel, on the other hand, held a distinguished form that was both soft and sophisticated. And knowing that all of these looks are wearable and accessible come fall, it’s looking to be an incredibly artistic and beautiful season to come!
