“A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet!” Apparently, a rose by any other form would still look as sweet too! In his Fall 2019 Noir show during Paris Fashion Week, Kei Ninomiya focused on the classic flora as his starting point for this season’s collection. With big shapes and new techniques, he played on the rose’s beauty, enveloping his models in exciting volumes that were truly avant-garde. Though some looks were a tad too much, the idea still resonated with superfluous wonder. A noteworthy look was that of a Le Smoking suit with a floor-length caped back and a rosy head-dress. If any woman wants to embody Ninomiya’s dark romanticism come fall, this look will be her best bet, especially for a night out on the town! Those with more flamboyant tastes are likely to gravitate towards the frilly and frothy evening coats that ended the show—red carpet or not, these looks deserve to be captured by the paparazzi! All in all, we thought this was a magnificent showing of talent, ideas, and creativity! Bravo Mr. Ninomiya!
