The Ralph Lauren brand tends to stay within their signature vocabulary, churning out classic Americana season after season. Their Fall 2019 Menswear collection is no different, and is, in fact, a return to their roots, so to speak. Menswear creative director John Wrazej raked in the famous equestrian aesthetic for his seasonal offering. From the stirrup pants and big-buckled belts to the embroidered denim and cached suede, the looks were the most Western as a New York sophisticate can get. Fortunately, they didn’t look costumey, and if one wanted to stray slightly away from that equine style, they can still opt for the more classic suits in either glimmering tan velvet, strong charcoal wool, or the evening-appropriate navies. A daring tuxedo even paired a dark olive green plaid pair of slacks with a standard black velvet jacket—a touch of mischevious youth to an otherwise traditionally refined look. While this offering may not change the fashion vocabulary, at least men can still rely on Ralph Lauren for a nice suit!
