Color, knits, and elongated silhouettes are Jordana Warmflash‘s bread and butter, and for Fall 2019, she capitalized on them for her latest Novis collection. There was a sort of kitschy take on glamour this season, highlighting her eye-popping and slightly cartoonish use of color and embroidery on her many indelible signatures, Make no mistake, however, as while all this may seem too quirky and youthful, the craftsmanship here is almost couture-worthy. Sweaters were knitted to perfection, the suits were exquisitely tailored, and most of the embroidered pieces were sublime. The black evening gown embroidered with an image of a 1920s Art Deco illustration of a Flapper girl was so well-made that it harkens back to the haute couture in Paris. Still, it’s the quirky and slight touch of humor that will likely have Novis customers flocking to the stores come fall!
