If looking at Natasha Zinko’s Fall 2019 collection makes you confused, don’t worry! We feel the same way! It’s almost unsettling how unorthodox her latest line is because she’s always been a masterful streetwise designer. Here, however, her vision was all over the place. There was little to no coherence whatsoever, there were a lot of unfinished ideas, and the overall styling was questionable. Not to mention the garish colors and awful graphics she used to paint her offering with. Even when you break those heavily-layered looks down, what you get are not as good as those she’s offered before. The denim pieces, for instance, looked ill-fitting and had a worn-out kind of finish that didn’t even seem gimmicky, it just looked old. Though the tailoring here was sort of commendable, it was also deconstructed in a way that felt incomplete. And what of the shorts-over-pants combo? Simply horrific. Here’s to hoping that Natasha Zinko gets her streetwear groove back next season. The faster we move on from whatever this is, the better!
