Nili Lotan is one of those enigmatic female designers who know what women want. And this season, she hit the ball right out of the park with her Fall 2019 collection. Here, she touched on two important things in fashion today: feminism and ease. Inspired by the works of Yves Saint Laurent, as well as legendary A-listers Diane Keaton and Lauren Hutton, her line was all about the 70s. It was, after all, the decade of second-wave feminism, and the women in this era would look mighty powerful in her leather pieces and tailored suits. The modern take on Le Smoking suit and the tinges of animal prints were straight out of the 70s playbook but had a slick rock’n’roll feel to them that was very modern. When it came to ease, the denim pieces were also big winners. In both fitted jeans and elegant button-downs, they’re versatile proposals for causal workwear and refined streetwear. Fierce and fine, it’d be no surprise to us if this line were to become a major bestseller come fall!
