Marc Jacobs Beauty Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder Review
Product Description
Marc Jacobs Beauty’s brand new Accomplice Instant Blurring Powder makes a few missteps but generally moves in the right direction. The packaging embodies the signature elegance of the Marc Jacobs label, and the addition of an outside compartment for the product’s (pretty good) built-in brush only makes the appearance more striking. In terms of the powder itself, it actually does do a great job of smoothing and slightly brightening the complexion. But on the other hand, it definitely lacks the coverage necessary to make good use of a powder like this one, and it misses out on the oil control aspect almost completely. And at $49.00, those are pretty huge trade-offs.

The Accomplice Instant Blurring Powder is one of the products included in the most recently released collection by Marc Jacobs Beauty, and of the items in this line, it’s already probably the most reliable—but that’s not to say it doesn’t come with its own issues.

As is the standard with any product by Marc Jacobs Beauty, the packaging of the product is sleek, elegant, and very sexy. The case is a lacquered, almost vinyl-esque (in terms of shine) black. The outer area of the case also includes the snap compartment for the product’s unique built-in brush—which might not be the best powder brush on the market, but it’s absolutely handy.

In terms of the powder itself, the product is quite finely-milled and pressed pretty firmly in the pan, so it’s not very prone to getting messy. As promised in the product’s name, the powder delivers a blurring effect by smoothing out imperfections in the face. But the main caveat is that the product doesn’t carry enough coverage, and it is seriously lacking in mattifying or oil control properties.

In general, for $49.00, we feel that this product does some pretty great work, but perhaps not enough to truly justify going out and getting it.

SUITABLE FOR: Normal to dry skin types.
