Yves Saint Laurent Beauty All Hours Concealer Review
Product Description
The Yves Saint Laurent Beauty All Hours Concealer promises full coverage and 16-hour wear time, and effectively provides neither. Yes, the formula is quite easy to work onto the skin, and it does provide some simulacrum of coverage, but it barely delivers. First of all, the shade range on this product is not great, with a lot of very similar-looking shades on the lighter end of the product spectrum. The coverage it actually provides is a far cry from the full coverage it promises—it’s not even enough to tackle undereye darkness! It’s also particularly drying, and as a result, it also tends to settle into fine lines on the skin, making for an all-around awful wearing experience. The only thing we can say is this: STEER CLEAR!

We didn’t think it possible, but we may have just stumbled upon what we believe is one of the worst luxury concealers we’ve ever had the displeasure of trying out. The Yves Saint Laurent label released the All Hours Concealer as a collection with a boatload of other products, but the concealer received plenty of hype for its supposed great coverage and 16-hour wear time. To that, we say, not so.

With a prohibitively luxurious $34.00 price tag, you’d think this product would at least deliver a good fraction of what it promises, but it just ends up being (and looking like) a messy disappointment. The product’s “full” coverage is actually a buildable light to medium coverage that barely does anything for dark undereye regions, much less so for other problematic spots on the face. It tries to push for the long wear time, but ultimately it fails because the formula is just too drying, settling into unwanted fine lines on the skin, and eventually looking too flaky to keep on. Not even the shade range is very good, with a severe imbalance on the light and dark ends of the product’s shade spectrum.

Overall, we just don’t think this product has any great redeeming qualities that can really justify the investment. There are so many other fantastic concealers out there that this one just isn’t worth the risk.

SUITABLE FOR: Normal to oily skin types.
