Previously in Marc Jacob Beauty, we reviewed the Fineliner Ultra Skinny Gel Eye Crayon on the site here. Now it’s time for its sister product, the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon. Unlike the flat-tipped Fineliner, the Highliner is a little chubbier, which makes for a very interesting application experience.
The first thing we noticed about this product is the firmness of the pencil tip, which is great news for harder-handed users out there, and is a general plus for this product. This eyeliner also delivers fantastic pigmentation that beats out even its Fineliner cousin (which had great pigmentation already, mind you). The consistency is nice and easy to apply. And besides being long-wearing, this product also gives you a built-in sharpener, so you never need to worry about your eyeliner going dull.
One point against this eyeliner, especially for people who like doing more precise eye makeup looks, is that the tip is just never the sharpest, no matter how many times you sharpen it, so this isn’t the kind of eyeliner you use for your cat-eyes or winged tips. Additionally, the crayon tip is also prone to breaking or squishing, especially when being brought around regularly, so caution must be exercised.
The Highliner Gel Eye Crayon is, without a doubt in our minds, one of the best eyeliners out there right now, luxury or otherwise, Despite being a little pricey for the amount of eyeliner you get, you can clearly see that the investment is well worth it.
