Milani Cosmetics Make It Last Setting Powder Review
Product Description
The main stumble of the Make It Last Setting Powder is its lack of resistance to flashback. This product definitely has some pretty great qualities. It's particularly good at smoothing out makeup, and its ability to control oiliness is admirable. But then again, flashback is a big enough issue to deal with that it's iffy to wear a product that's unable to actually snuff out the problem. While it’s a solid setting powder overall, if you know you’ll be in situations where flashback might be an issue, it’s probably better to use a different setting powder.

Setting powders can be a moderately touchy subject within makeup-loving circles. Everyone has their own opinion, but they can all agree: flashback is the true devil when you’re wearing on loose powders. There are so many tips and tricks when it comes to putting on loose powders, but sometimes, it just comes down to the actual products themselves; the chance that they actually could cause flashback just by being applied to the face.

Enter the Make It Last Setting Powder by Milani Cosmetics. To be fair, this product does have a lot going for it. The product is great at putting a stopper to oil and shine, as well as smoothing out one’s makeup. It also manages to wear for hours on end. Even the packaging is pretty good in that it controls the amount of product you’re going to dispense so you don’t end up causing a mess.

But then, it really isn’t flashback-resistant. If you’re heading out for a day where there are going to be flashing lights, steer clear of this product because you’re going to end up looking like the Abominable Snowman. The flashback can probably be attributed to the product’s silica base. This active ingredient is great for film makeup but it’s also notorious for reflecting light, causing the aforementioned flashback effect.

If you’re not really into silica-based powders, or if you’re the type who constantly goes into situations where they’re photographed, it’s probably best to stay away from this product. But otherwise, it’s a solid setting powder, especially for the price you pay.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
