If you want to talk about a ‘show,’ look no further than Lela Rose‘s stunning Fall 2019 show during New York Fashion Week! Inspired by the Westminster Dog Show that happened around the same time, Rose presented her collection with a dog show herself, complete with elegant frocks, old-school shapes, and a few playful pups for good measure. Beyond the spectacle, however, was a truly delightful offering that touched on what many women want to have in their wardrobes: sophisticated and timeless styles. Though most of the collection dealt with vintage silhouettes—some a bit too traditional—the modernity showed with the ease of it all. No dress nor suit seemed too constricting, and we felt that any woman who’d wear such pieces would have all the agency in the world to move about freely. The outerwear was, in our opinion, the best of the lot. The cinnamon-brown puppy-printed overcoat that started the show and peach-hued wrap-around were clear stand-outs! The florals, on the other hand, were the right dainty touches for any structured ensemble, and it didn’t hurt that they had their own shapeliness as well! Many times, you’d just want a beautiful collection that’ll make you happy, and this one is the perfect example!
