The Isabel Marant girl may be the quintessential Parisienne chick, but she’s also one to venture off into the wild a few times. In fact, she did so for Fall 2019, where the designer and ultimate perpetrator of French cool-girl style led her muse into a wild safari adventure. But the wildness wasn’t just in her destination, it was in her clothes too, by way of exaggerated 80s shapes, vibrant ethnic prints, and even some slouchy footwear. Although most of the looks were more of the same—with no complaints from Isabel Marant fans—there were some elements that were utter surprises. The draping, for instance, felt new and while decidedly feminine, also adhered to the designer’s boho-chic nomadic narrative, especially when styled with the prints (which some might argue were too much.). The most desirable and probably best-selling pieces come fall would definitely be the cozy knitwear and outerwear. Plush and pretty, these items are what made Marant such a beloved brand for girls (and some men) all over the world. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see most of Paris, and other fashionable cities, to be wrapped up in them this fall! Now there’s a wilderness that’d be lovely to see!
