Of all the 90s-esque collections that were presented this season, Coach 1941‘s was one of the freshest and most current-looking in the lot. We didn’t see any speck of overt nostalgia in the mix, but the vibe was still familiar to that electric decade. With subtlety and ease, Stuart Vevers trotted out an interesting balance of boho-chic styles and a bit of grunge for the brand’s Fall 2019 show. Think plaids with floaty florals, sleek tailored pieces, and a tinge of sportswear for good measure. Such elements had all the potential to seem gimmicky and old-school, but with Vever’s great eye for style and design, everything looked crisp and desirable. Though we’re not huge fans of floaty frocks for fall (it’s too cold for that kind of breeziness!), here, they actually worked! The plaids were arguably the more fascinating graphics, decorating an array of slick outerwear that’s incredibly refined and modern. And when paired together, though the clash is questionable, they still look so cool and fresh! Looks like Vevers and Coach 1941 has another hit on their hands!
