Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Baby Doll Kiss and Blush Review
Product Description
Yves Saint Laurent’s Baby Doll Kiss and Blush is an interesting product. With a unique consistency that’s somewhere between the wateriness of a lip stain or liquid blush, and the thickness of a traditional matte liquid lipstick, it’s fun to do some experimentation with this product, especially in finding what works for you, especially because the color is quite rich. Its main problem is that the color tends to transfer, so the wear time also suffers quite a bit.

We’ve seen solid lip and cheek cream formulas before such as the Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip & Cheek Cream and NARS Cosmetics’ iconic The Multiple before (both of which we’ve reviewed here and here). But liquid multi-purpose cream formulas are a little bit rarer to come by. Fortunately, Yves Saint Laurent has got us covered with the Baby Doll Kiss and Blush, a liquid matte cream that’s purported to be used to color both the lips and cheeks.

This small container of product, in a bottle that somehow looks more like nail polish than tinted cream for the face, has an interesting formula. It’s not quite as thick as a traditional matte liquid lipstick, nor as watery as lip stains or some liquid blushes. The color looks gorgeous on both the lips and the cheeks, with just the right amount of coverage, without being thick. The product dries down to a very natural-feeling matte that still sports about the right amount of hydration to ensure comfort.

The main problem with this product is transference. Accidentally rubbing the product off against cloth-covered surfaces will likely result in the color coating the surface you made contact with. Because of this quality, the wear time absolutely suffers.

So what do we think of this product? Certainly, the product is worth a try, if only because the formula is so interesting to play with. There are so many ways to use this product, especially in adjusting the color and intensity to suit your preferences.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
