NARS Cosmetics The Multiple Multi-Purpose Stick Review
Product Description
It’s easy to come for the faults of NARS Cosmetics’ The Multiple because it does have quite a few significant ones, but we’ll say this: it’s an iconic product for a reason. Between good pigmentation and fantastic blendability, it’s not too hard to see why plenty of people would fall in love with this product. While the lack of coverage and the unexpected shimmeriness are definitely faults that will be remembered, this product can just do so much that it almost makes you forget what it can’t.

There are so many multi-purpose products in the market today, but none of them are quite as confident as NARS CosmeticsThe Multiple Multi-Purpose Stick. To be fair, the product, first developed by the brand’s founder, François Nars, is one of NARS Cosmetics’ most iconic products. But has it held up through the test of time?

This stick was developed to be multi-purpose, and to that end, it stays true to its word. The product is usable in a variety of ways including as blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick—even as a rosy highlighter, if that’s what you need. You also get decent, sheer pigmentation that blends out beautifully and so, so easily to make the product look more natural. Just as good is that the product holds up well under a variety of conditions.

The sheer pigmentation might be considered a plus, but it’s also a point against the product. To be quite frank, this is probably the sheerest cream blush we’ve ever tried, and it’s disappointing that you barely get any coverage out of it. Even being in NARS’ iconic Orgasm shade doesn’t save the lack of coverage. Also related to that, the stick is, bafflingly, more shimmery than it is pigmented, which we didn’t know was actually a possibility with a product like this one. Formula-wise, it’s much weaker in the eyelid as eyeshadow than it is on the cheeks or lips. It tends to crease so much more in the former, which is not a pretty look for this item.

Our verdict? We get why it was popular when it was first formulated, but we don’t get its lasting popularity because nowadays, it’s just not all that special. Don’t get us wrong: You could definitely do so much worse than this product. But for the price tag, it’s a little bit more disappointing than anything.

SUITABLE FOR: Normal to dry skin types.
